Pricing and engagement

Priced for the work you need, agreed before it starts

We do not publish a price list, because a $400,000 field service business and a $6 million manufacturer need genuinely different engagements. What we do publish is exactly how the number gets set.

How pricing works

Three steps, no surprises

You will know the scope and the cost before anything begins, and you will know who is doing the work.

  1. Step 1

    We talk first

A consultation to understand where the business is, what it needs and whether we are the right firm. Thirty minutes, no charge.

  2. Step 2

    You get a written scope

Every engagement is quoted after that call, based on the services you actually need. The scope is listed line by line so nothing is assumed.

  3. Step 3

    Nothing starts until you agree

You see the full scope and the quote before any work begins. If the answer is no, that is a perfectly good outcome for both of us.

Engagement options

Four scopes, shaped around where you are

Most clients recognise themselves in one of these. The lines between them move, and the scope moves with your business rather than at renewal time.

    • Property, investments or equity compensation
    • Family, trust or charitable planning in progress

    Typically includes

Revenue bands are a guide, not a rule. What actually sets the scope is transaction volume, the number of entities and states involved, payroll complexity and how much planning the year ahead calls for.

Quoted separately

Work that sits outside an ongoing engagement

These are priced on their own, so an unusual year does not quietly inflate what you pay every month afterwards.

  • Catch-up bookkeeping

Rebuilding several months or years of unreconciled history before the ongoing work can begin.

  • Assurance engagements

Audits, reviews, compilations and agreed-upon procedures, scoped once we know what your reader requires.

  • IRS representation

Examination response, correspondence management and penalty abatement work.

  • Transaction support

Diligence, quality of earnings and integration work when you are buying or selling a business.

Before you ask

Whether the fit is right, before the fee is the question

Most pricing questions are really questions about scope. These are the ones that come up first.

Ask us directly

Is your team a good fit for a growing solopreneur?

Yes. We have a lot of experience working with solopreneurs who generate between $300,000 and $1 million in annual revenue. At that stage the priorities are usually clean books, an entity structure that is not costing you money, and someone who answers the telephone.

My bookkeeper is overwhelmed. Can you help a three million dollar company?

Absolutely. For growing businesses generating between $1 million and $10 million in revenue, a basic do-it-yourself setup or a simple bookkeeper is rarely enough. We take over the close, rebuild the reporting so it can be trusted, and add planning and advisory alongside it.

My business makes over $5 million and I am applying for financing. What support do you offer?

When the stakes get higher, you need a financial team that can keep up. That means cash flow forecasting, KPI reporting, and statements and projections prepared to the standard a lender or investor expects to receive, with a senior advisor in the room when you present them.

Can you help me lower my tax bill instead of just filing my returns in April?

Yes. We go far beyond basic tax preparation. Entity structure, S corporation elections, owner compensation, depreciation timing and quarterly estimates are reviewed throughout the year, while the outcome can still be changed. By April the number is already decided.

Tell us what you need and we will price it properly

A short consultation, then a written scope and quote. Nothing begins until you have both in front of you.
